Nice concept and all (reminds me a little of the 2gig go control 2.0) I am sure it will get many early adopters.

Update on Qolsys

Tyco takes control of Qolsys with a multimillion dollar "investment". Qolsys product line will be made immediately available to Tyco established security products channels, and Qolsys will drop Resolution products for its own product line

Grinstead [VP of Global Sales for Tyco] declined to reveal the amount of the investment, which he characterized as “additive [to current Tyco Security Products’ product development efforts] rather replacement

While Qolsys will continue to be based in San Jose, Calif., and will retain its management, brand and independence, Grinstead said there will be opportunities for R&D collaboration between the Qolsys team and Tyco.

Rumor has it that the Tyco "investment" into Qolsys was in the range of tens of millions of dollars, and that Tyco will take over the R&D, manufacturing, and testing for Qolsys.

It is also rumored that within the coming year that Qolsys will be completely revamped and will debut its own products, gear and sensors which should give them a lot more control, less compatibility issues, and more stability.

How this will affect any existing manufacturing agreements with FOXCONN, and Resolution is yet to be seen.

[FALCON]

The QOLSYS panel is exceptional. It had some bugs initially, but the latest version software is great and the panel has picture rotation just like an electronic photo frame. We love it.
