    Vivint/APX 2014 financial woes

Ever wonder why Vivint seems to 'accidently' over charge its customers, or continue to 'accidently' bill customers who have previously canceled their services? Why it is near impossible to cancel services, or why Vivint engages in allegedly shady business practices to obtain new accounts?

It may be because Vivint is running in a deficit...as of March, 2014 (first quarter 2014) Vivint/APX Holdings Group was running at a net loss of -$47,000,000, and depleting cash reserves.

First Quarter 2014 Financial Reports for Blackstone's APX Group Holdings which is the parent company of Vivint (Source) Vivint Investors.
