With firmware version 1.10, 2GIG provided the option to use other communication providers for the 2GIG panel.
Telguard uses POTS (telephone) to send your alarm signals and 2way voice communication from their system to the central station. This is bad, and provides subpar, slow communication services.

Alarm.com has more peripheral device support (a larger selection of indoor/outdoor cameras, Image Sensors, GEO Services, and the soon to be released IP broadband Go!Bridge (which enables dual path communication for both cellular and internet connectivity).
So, in conclusion, if you are considering 2GIG, go with a provider that offers alarm.com's backend services (and which includes the *AirFX remote toolkit) It's more dependable, faster, and will provide an overall user experience that is light years beyond anything that Telguard can apparently at this time provide.
*AirFX lets technicians/providers program the panel, troubleshoot and resolve many issues remotely.
